Billy Mize coming to Bakersfield

The documentary “Billy Mize and The Bakersfield Sound” debuted at the L.A. Film Festival recently, but it’s really coming home on September 18, 2014.  On that day, it will make its Bakersfield debut at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, likely to a sold-out crowd.  The film was a labor of love for its creator, Joe Saunders, and we got a chance to talk with Joe tonight about its journey.  If you are in a position to view it, we highly suggest you make that happen because, as with many films, a lot don’t make it to distribution and screenings are sometimes the only way to see them.  We wish Joe good luck with the future of his film.

Besides talking to Joe, we spun vinyl all night with a few exceptions.  Here’s the playlist and some clips.  Thanks for listening.
