March 18 playlist and show update

Welp, we did it.  KWMR’s spring pledge drive started on March 17 with a bang.  We went into the show with $7,000 of support being pledged to the station.  Our show goal was to raise at least $500 and we did it.  Thank you to everyone who called in your support.  We, and the station, really appreciate it.

Smelley Kelley from Red Meat was in the studio with us.  He brought a great selection of his music, CD and vinyl, for us to play and he did not disappoint in helping us pitch to the listeners the need to call in with pledge support.  A special thanks to Owen Bly, Red Meat’s manager, for helping coordinate (drive) the means to get Smelley to the studio.

As an added bonus, we were able to go an extra hour with the show – three full hours of Bakersfield and Beyond!  There was still more music we wanted to get on the air, but we’ll save it for another show.  Here’s the playlist and a few You Tube clips to enjoy.  Thanks again for your support and for the support of the show.  This was our show’s one year anniversary!  We hope to be with you for many more years to come.

Check out the sound that banjo makes on this clip!
