Show #175 – In Studio With Maurice Tani

Maurice Tani of 77 El Deora has a new record coming out on May 13 (release party at Freight & Salvage) and a showing coming up at Rancho Nicasio on April 2.  He spent almost the whole show in the studio at KWMR talking about punk rock, Bakersfield music, Photoshop, Twitter’s 140 character limit, and a host of other topics.  And we played a bunch of tracks of a freshly burned CD of his new album.  It’s a good one.

Show #174 – Merle Haggard

Merle’s been in the news recently and the news ain’t great.  Merle’s, unfortunately, had to postpone all his March tour dates due to complications with pneumonia.  But, the good news is that the April show dates are still up on his site and those are shows with Willie Nelson – now that’s a show that can’t be missed!  We took this opportunity to pay a bit of a tribute to Merle and his music with tonight’s Bakersfield & Beyond show.

Archive of the show available for your listening pleasure available on the KWMR website until March 24.

And we also want to send some good, healing vibes to Candye Kane who’s been battling a form of pancreatic cancer since 2008.
