Thanksgiving Day show

We hope everyone listening had a great Thanksgiving Day.  And even those who might not have been able to listen, we hope you had a great day too.  Holidays at KWMR can be fun.  We know lots of people listen to the radio all day.  Many times, during holidays, a lot of the programmers visit friends and family.  Such was the case today with automated programming happening just about all day.  So, we were happy to get into the studio and give folks some live hosts on air.  A little post tryptophan honky tonk.  Here’s the playlist and some youtube clips.

You could say we went a little beyond tonight.

There’s a lot of great covers of “Detroit City.”  We played Flatt & Scruggs tonight.  There’s great ones by John Doe & The Sadies and Johnny Cash.  Here’s one by Bobby Bare.

I just never get tired of The Beat Farmers’ version of Powderfinger.  And I can (and have) watched this clip of them performing it over and over.  Buddy Blue and Country Dick Montana – you guys are missed, but not forgotten.
