Show #203 – 4/20

Mike asked me two times if we had a theme for the show this week. I’m sure I shrugged, since I have been really busy, my mom is visiting and we have a big KWMR event this weekend, not having a theme is not a big deal. I woke up on 4/20 to a barrage information pushing the day recognizing marijuana. The story is that students would gather at 4:20pm at San Rafael High School to imbibe.

Neither host of Bakersfield and Beyond are big smokers, but the love of a good song can be a big high. Turns out there are a lot of damn good songs that are about, reference, celebrate, or warn about the dangers of weed. So, the playlist included many, but not all, nope not by a long shot. We did kick things off with Merle Haggard and then closed the show with Willie and Merle. It was more of a “beyond” show, and we hope you enjoyed it.
