Show #182 – Scotty Moore

We diverged a bit from the traditional Bakersfield themed show tonight.  But not really, since the Bakersfield Sound was highly influenced by the rockabilly scene.  Scotty Moore, Elvis’ guitarist, died two days ago on June 28 so we played some of his songs and some of the Elvis songs that showcased Moore’s guitar playing.  Deke Dickerson penned a great interview with Moore a few years back – it’s a great read.  It seems 2016 is not being kind to musicians.  All we can do is appreciate them and honor them by continuing to listen to their music.
