Show #142 – Rock & Roll Icons Passing

This week, Bobby Keys, the saxophonist for the Rolling Stones, and Ian McLagan, keyboardist for Faces, Small Faces, and sometimes for the Rolling Stones both passed away.  Since the Rolling Stones have a connection to Gram Parsons who has a connection to the country music of Bakersfield artists, we give honorary Bakersfield cred to Bobby Keys and Ian McLagan.  In the mix of songs tonight, we have some Stones, Faces, and Ian McLagan.  The music lives on.

We also talked with our good pal, Smelley Kelley from the band Red Meat who are getting into the groove with three holiday shows coming up starting with the first one this Saturday at Rancho Nicasio.  It’s always great to converse with Smelley because the conversation is sure to degrade to the point Smelley will tell us he is scantily dressed.  It tonight’s case, he informed us that he was buck naked.  And with that, I’ll put an end to this.
