New Music Thursday

A lot of new music perfect for Bakersfield & Beyond showed up at the station recently.  Notables are Vince Gill & Paul Franklin “Bakersfield,” Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers self-titled CD, Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants “All Hat & No Cattle,” Patricial Vonne “Rattle My Cage,” “The Big E, A Salute to Steel Guitarist Buddy Emmons,” and Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys “What A Dream It’s Been.”  Among the interesting tidbits are Chris Shiflett (you may know him from his other band The Foo Fighters) and it’s Big Sandy’s 25th year making music as Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys.  Congratulations!  The other pleasant surprise is the Vince Gill/Paul Franklin “Bakersfield” CD – a solid compilation of songs from Bakersfield Sound artists performed by country super-star, Vince Gill.
