KWMR is in pledge drive mode

Last night was Bakersfield & Beyond’s pledge drive show.  We started the show with a goal to make $600 and ended up bringing in almost $900 via 15 pledges.  That was great.  Our listeners are the best!  We also had local banjo virtuoso, Tim Weed, in the studio doing some great live picking in honor of the recently passed Earl Scruggs.  Tim and his partner, Debbie Daly, played a few classic tunes live in studio.  We managed to get a couple meager video clips of the performance recorded to a barely adequate digital camera.  It was truly a wonderful performance.

Later in the show we talked with Smelley Kelley from Red Meat and Bakersfield’s own Dr. BLT.  It’s always a great time talking with those guys.  Smelley was in rare form and kept it clean.  Red Meat has some upcoming shows – be sure to check them out on-line.

Thanks again to everyone who called in to pledge support for KWMR.
