Last day of March playlist

Hard to believe the fourth month of the year is here.  KWMR and its listeners did a great job during the Spring pledge drive that ended last Sunday.  No one worked harder during the pledge drive than my co-host Amanda as she led over 100 volunteers through a fun pledge drive.  With all the tireless work, she deserved a much needed break so I covered the show tonight.

If there was one theme, it was a celebration of Buck Owens.  Buck passed away five years ago on March 25 after having his favorite dinner, chicken fried steak, and performing one last time.  I put together some tunes that were covered by Buck and some tunes of his that were covered by others.

I also talked with Dr. BLT about his CD project he’s putting together to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan through the American Red Cross.  Here’s a link to the songs and information on the tunes and CD that can be purchased.  Our pals Dave Gleason and Dave Howe contributed songs for the effort.

Can’t believe we’ve been playing Tim Hus’ song and haven’t ever posted clip of Tim playing.
