  1. Thanks for posting this. I thought it was very well done. The influence of the loss of Merle’s father on his life and his music reminds me of Johnny Cash, and how the loss of his brother, Jack, impacted his life and his music. Johnny was also just a youngster when his brother was killed in a terrible saw accident. Both of these legends managed to take something tragic and eventually turn it into something that was a tremendous blessing to millions of people.
