Recap of July 8 show

When you have a show every two weeks, the months just seem to fly by.  Yep, another two weeks have passed and it’s time to post up a recap of last night’s show with the playlist.  We played a few sets by artists who are going to be performing locally.  Dave Gleason and Rosie Flores are playing tonight at Rancho Nicasio, just up the road from the KWMR headquarters in Point Reyes Station.  We also gave away a pair of tickets to a lucky caller who will see Rosie play up north a bit in Sebastopol at Studio E tomorrow night.  We also played a great selection of Ian Jones from the Jones Family Fortune.  Ian will be playing a live acoustic set in Point Reyes Station at the Station House Cafe next Thursday, July 15.  All in all, it was a fun show and we hope listeners enjoyed it as much as we do.

This one’s for our good friend Dr. BLT – Sky Saxon w/ Dave Gleason on guitar.

  1. Looking forward to catching the one by Sky Saxon with Dave Gleason on guitar. It doesn’t come up on my work computer and our internet server at home is down. But I can’t wait to access it, and I’m also really looking forward to the show tonight!

  2. Oh, and BTW, thanks for thinking of me in reference to the Sky Saxon song ft. Dave Gleason, and thanks again for airing “Howe” to Write a Country Song.

  3. I have a request. Hank Cochran, who passed away just a few days ago wrote a song called “Make the World Go Away.” I think Eddie Arnold was the one who made it into the big hit it turned out to be. I’d like to request that one, or perhaps, “I Fall to Pieces,” recorded by Patsi Cline, also penned by Cochran.

Also, I was talking to Rod Armstrong who plays bass for Fatt Katt and the Vonzippers and he told me that 2 couples came all the way from Apple Valley to hear them play at the Crystal Palace after hearing them on your show, so if you could play some Fatt Katt and the Vonzippers and dedicate it to this couple of couples (he did not recall their names) that would also be awesome.
