April 1, 2010 Show Recap + Playlist

We hope folks who tuned in to the show tonight had as much fun listening as we had working out the details and putting on our April Fools show.  We thought a transition from our standard opening song, Bakersfield Music by Tim Hus to some reggae music would be a great way to transition to Kingston & Beyond.  While the microphones were off and we faded out Tim Hus and brought up some classic Desmond Dekker, we were cracking up.  We even attempted a Jamaican accent, but ended up sounding more Irish or Scottish.  Oh well.

After some fun reggae tunes, we transitioned from the Reggae Cowboys’ Johnny Be Goode (it’s spelled ‘Be’ on the album) to Buck Owens’ version of Johnny B. Goode and got into more great Bakersfield/West Coast music with a fine version of of Dim Lights, Thick Smoke, and Loud, Loud Music.

Thanks for tuning in and listening.
