Playlist for 7-23-09

As Amanda mentioned, our 110 minutes on the air last night was over in a flash. Spinning vinyl puts us in action all the time cuing up the tracks. I really like the mechanical feel of the turntables and the albums. The labels on the LPs are easy to read. All the songs are listed with times and song-writer in an easy to read format. Sometimes CDs don’t even have any song listing printed on them and one must scramble to look up tiny printed liner notes buried in the jewel case. Amanda did a great job spinning the vinyl.

Below is the playlist. I’ve noted the songs that we played from vinyl with an asterisk next to the album name.

And don’t forget to get out to Point Reyes Station on Saturday July 25 for the Far West Fest. Activities start sometime after 10:00 am and go on until about 8 or 9. It’s an all day music fest with great local food and other vendors and adult beverages on tap too! Parking is limited. Ride your bike or if you have to drive, park in town and ride your bike over.

  1. Vinyl is really a lot of fun. It was cool that you guys were able to dig some of that vinyl stuff up and put it on the air. It was another masterfully-put-together playlist and a really fun show. Good luck with Far West Fest. Wish we could be there. We greatly look forward to your arrival on Homer Joy’s “Street’s of Bakersfield” in August.

  2. Howdy!

The Billy Boys are recording again – it’s our As Yet Unnamed third CD. Rich AmeriCowboy sounds happening in the round. Maybe we can get some advance tracks to you and you can tell us what you think…

        Great, Amanda!

(Sorry for the delay in replying – live intrudes.)

We’ll go snail mail when the tracks are ready.
