Playlist 7-9-09: Red Meat and vinyl

What a fun show we had last night.  We had Smelley Kelley in studio and Jill Olson on the phone.  Both are members of the band Red Meat who will be playing at the KWMR/Love Field Far West Fest.  Smelley brought in a stack of music – all vinyl LPs which were super fun to spin on KWMR’s turntables.  The two hour show went by way too quick with Smelley and Jill telling great stories.  We are looking forward to seeing Red Meat play again at the Far West Fest on July 25, where Amanda and I will emcee the show.

The playlist is a bit shorter this week but the value of the show was talking with Smelley and Jill from Red Meat.

  1. I’ve been running into a lot of what I’ve come to call “RED HEADS” lately. Red Heads are those who are huge fans of the Grateful Dead, but secretly prefer Red Meat. The show was fun, I was really entertained by Smelly’s comments and Jill was very engaging as well. The music was great, as usual.
