Upcoming shows and tonight’s playlist

There’s a lot of great shows coming up in the next couple of weeks.  We spun some tunes to get folks in the mood to check the shows out.  Let’s see, Dave Alvin is playing McNear’s Mystic Theater on Saturday October 15.  The next day, Sunday October 17, 77 El Deora is playing a dinner show at Rancho Nicasio.  Later in the week, John Doe is playing the Great American Music Hall on October 20.  Here in Pt. Reyes Station on October 22, Red Meat is playing at the Old Western Saloon – a guaranteed good time.  Hope you can catch some of this great music coming up.

We played a song off the Chris Gaffney tribute CD, A Man Of Somebody’s Dreams, by the band Calexico.  I’d heard their version of Gaffney’s Frank’s Tavern several times and always thought I’d remember to play that.  Tonight was the night to remember.  The band has a good sound.  Check them out.
